7th Chakra – Sahasrara

The 7th Chakra – Sahasrara – is also called CROWN CHAKRA. It helps us to feel at one with ourselves, our world and the universe. It is located at the crown, the highest point of the head. According to the understanding of yoga, it is the seat of the soul, where the connection between individual and cosmic consciousness takes place.

The themes of 7th Chakra – Sahasrara are:

Confidence in one’s spiritual path and being integrated into a greater whole!

It’s descriptive verb is: I accept (what is), I know (that all is One)!

The opening of the Crown Chakra

The opening of the 7th Chakra – Sahasrara requires a good grounding, otherwise one loses the ground under the feet, can no longer distinguish between illusion and reality.

When the energy flows up from the root chakra to the crown chakra, we trust in our own path and being integrated into a greater whole. The lower 6 chakras must be open and in harmony so that the energy can flow freely to the 7th chakra.

The crown chakra is where the encounter with infinity and the direct experience of transcendence takes place.

When the crown chakra is open, you perceive this “being one with everything” as absolute ecstasy! According to the understanding of yoga, the crown chakra is the seat of the soul, where the connection between individual and cosmic consciousness takes place. In the crown chakra the encounter with infinity and the direct experience of transcendence takes place.

Unbalanced – Balanced Crown Chakra

If the energy in the 7th Chakra – Sahasrara  is unbalanced, we tend to exaggerated materialism, negate the transcendental forces and limit the experience of the world to the direct sensory perceptions on the one side. On the other side, religious extremism is also a sign of an unbalanced 7th chakra. Other factors include: Sleep disturbances, feelings of isolation or existential crises of the meaning of life.  Mental illnesses are also related to a disbalance in the crown chakra.

If the energy in the 7th chakra is balanced, we feel at one with our own soul, the world and have a deep trust in the unknown. Meditation has the same meaning for the crown chakra as eating and drinking has for the body!
