About Me

Jelka Yoga around the worldMy name is Jelka. I love spending time in nature, whether in summer or winter. The water, the mountains and the forests are my personal power places. My body, mind and soul recharge in the great outdoors, thus coming into harmony, similar to what happens in yoga practice and meditation.

The first time I came in contact with yoga and meditation was when I lived in THAILAND and MEXICO between 2001-2005. However, it only became my great passion when I tried my first Kundalini Yoga class in CAPE TOWN in 2008. Already in that first class I felt a sense of happiness and peace within me that I had not known before. I was immediately hooked on this new form of yoga. My life began to change slowly but steadily. From that moment on, I began to devote a lot of time to yoga and spirituality.


Travels & Yoga

As a flight attendant, I began to travel to many countries during my vacations to deepen my knowledge in various trainings and workshops. I met many inspiring like-minded people and teachers who have enriched my life immensely to this day.

I have spent many months in India to be graced in the presence of those also learning Kundalini Yoga and others who have traveled from far to teach.

In Hawaii I was introduced to the sound and the message of Huna, also called Ho’omana which means to make life force, with Dr. Matt James.

An integral part of Huna is Ho’oponopono, a Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness. Ho’ oponopono helps us to “come clean” with ourselves and our fellow human beings, to become “pono”.

Kundalini Yoga, Ho’opono pono & Pre-Natal Yoga

Kundalini Yoga has helped me to open up in a fundamental way. That opening has allowed me to also appreciate other cultures and different perceptions as I started to fully practice the beauty of self-forgiveness and self-compassion. Through Ho’oponopono I learnt to forgive and love more, myself and others. I can be “pono” with a person in my heart, be “pure”, and still not want this person in my life, if this person is not good for me!
Ho’oponopono is an interesting inward journey!

The Pre-Natal Yoga Teacher Training in New York with Gurmukh Kaur in 2010 has put in contact with pregnancy, conscious birthing and motherhood for the first time in my life. This training has shaped my deeply. Ever since I have enjoyed very much teacher “mamas to be” as it connects me with my soft side.

Griefing and Death Counselor Training

In 2014 I took the training to become a grief and death counselor at the ÖBR in Vienna. One of my biggest learnings in that training was to give every feeling, every emotion the space it deserves, to accept what is. That is important in mourning, as well as in yoga, when from time to time not so pleasant feelings come up, which want to be looked at, in order to be processed eventually.

Yoga for Children & Yin Yoga

The Children- and Yin Yoga teacher trainings have deepened my journey of self-discovery even more: The Children Yoga teacher training has brought about a more profound healing of my inner child. The Yin Yoga training has helped to bring my feminine and masculine side more into balance, to consciously pay more attention to these two parts within me.

Energetic Alignment

From 2019-2021 I had been doing online trainings with Diego Sanchez regarding energetic alignment and energy harmonizing techniques. These have enriched my spiritual abilities enormously.

I hope this gives you a glimpse of myself and my journey. Many additional trainings and workshops have shaped me and thus also flow into my yoga classes. I love to keep learning & sharing!

My mission & vision

My  wish is that my yoga-students also have this UPLIFTING EXPERIENCE on the YOGA MAT, when BODY, MIND & SOUL VIBRATE in HARMONY, when the ENERGY FLOWS between the chakras!

Carrying this positive vibration into the world … one person ath the time … the world becomes a little bit “more happy & whole” – one person at a time 🙂
